There’s a brief description of this exercise here.
Today I’m aiming to focus on hardwiring compassion. I don’t think of myself as a particularly hard-hearted person (perhaps no one does), but I notice that when I come into regular conflict with someone (like my children!), my compassion dwindles rapidly. The small daily conflicts that can occur over cleaning up, getting off a computer, getting into the car, tooth-brushing, etc, can erode my compassion until my entire focus is just on them getting it done. My goal today is to remember to feel compassionate even when I feel like the person in question is making my life harder.
